Building your gift planning toolkit: Ready or not?
Is your organization prepared to help your donors make transformational gifts? Learn from two experienced members of the Hawaii gift planning community to discover three simple things you can do today to be ready to receive your biggest gift ever! This panel will focus on basic action steps that even smaller organizations can implement right away.
Speakers:
Patti Look: Patti has over 35 years of fund raising experience and is the principal of The FundDevelopment Group, one of the few full-service, locally-owned consulting firms in Hawaii. She has helped secure over $100 million for non-profit organizations. Patti is the former Vice President of the Kuakini Foundation and has considerable experience in capital campaigns, major gifts, integrated campaigns, mass appeals and institutional campaigns. Patti has lectured and trained both in Hawaii and on the mainland and has been recognized as the recipient of the Outstanding Fundraising Executive Award by the Aloha Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She served as Treasurer for Hawaii Gift Planning Council and board Secretary for the Hawaii Youth Symphony.
Jeff Pederson: Jeff is the Principal and Founder of Presidio Philanthropic Advisors (PPA), a consulting firm specializing in “donor centered” major and legacy giving programs. Before establishing his own practice in 2019, Jeff was the Director of Planned Giving for Hawaii Pacific Health in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to joining Hawaii Pacific Health, Jeff was part of the leadership team specializing in planned and legacy giving at the Catholic Community Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota. Keys to his success included developing a planned giving program that focused on working with high net worth individuals and small business owners. He specialized in charitable and philanthropic strategies including business succession planning leading to the creation of numerous transformational charitable gifts. Jeff and his team work closely with non-profit organizations to build out custom planned giving marketing plans. He advises donors and their professional advisors on how to best structure philanthropic giving including establishing Donor Advised Funds and Private Foundations. Currently based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jeff and his team deliver impactful and creative legacy solutions for both the non-profit sector and the individual donors who support them.
